We get asked this question a lot: "Should I rent an e-bike or a road bike?" The answer depends on what kind of riding you want to do.
Choose a Road Bike If…
- You're a regular cyclist and want a workout
- You're tackling a long route like San Pedro to Ronda
- You prefer the feel of a lightweight, responsive bike
- You want to keep costs down (road bikes are cheaper to rent)
Choose an E-Bike If…
- You want to explore without exhausting yourself
- You're riding with a group of mixed abilities
- You want to tackle hills without the burn
- You're returning to cycling after a break
Our Recommendation
For coastal rides and flat routes, either works great. For hilly rides or mixed-ability groups, e-bikes are a game-changer. And if you're not sure, start with an e-bike — you can always switch the motor off.
