Not every ride needs to be an epic. Some of the best cycling on the Costa del Sol is gentle, scenic and perfect for a relaxed morning or afternoon in the sun. Whether you're on holiday with family, new to cycling or just want to enjoy the view without worrying about the gradient — here are our favourite easy rides near Marbella.
1. The Senda Litoral Coastal Path
This is our number one recommendation for anyone wanting a safe, flat and beautiful route. The Senda Litoral runs along the coastline from San Pedro de Alcántara through Puerto Banus to Marbella — about 22km one way. It's a shared path (cyclists and pedestrians) so keep your speed sensible, but it's a genuinely lovely ride at any pace.
You can turn around at any point, so it works for any distance. The path is mostly tarmac or compacted gravel and accessible for all bikes, including hire bikes and e-bikes.
2. San Pedro Town Loop
Don't underestimate the charm of exploring San Pedro itself on two wheels. The pedestrianised boulevard, the beach promenade and the local streets are all very bikeable. It's a great way to get your bearings when you first arrive and perfect if you've got younger kids riding with you.
3. Estepona to Manilva (Flat Coastal Road)
Head west from San Pedro and you'll find quieter roads and a more laid-back stretch of coast. The route to Manilva is flat, the traffic is manageable on weekday mornings and there are some excellent seafood stops along the way. About 35km round trip.
4. Cancelada Valley Loop
A gentle 20km loop heading just slightly inland from San Pedro through the village of Cancelada and back. A bit of rolling terrain but nothing too challenging. Quiet country roads, orange groves and the kind of Andalusian countryside that makes you want to slow right down.
